Q1. How far is the course?
A1. Choose from the 4.5km or 9km courses. Participants can run or walk either course.
Q2. Who can enter?
A2. Anyone fit enough to complete the course. Participants 5 and under are free (no entry or bib required). All participants under 18 must have the consent of parents to enter. Participants may run, walk or do a little of both.
Q3. How do I register?
A3. Participants can enter online before midnight on Jan 1, 2010. After that date, no further online entries will be accepted. You may also download, print and mail your entry. See events page for details.
Q4. What time can we sign in from?
A4. Participants can register from 6.30am.
Q5. When will race numbers be distributed?
A5. Event bibs will be posted to participants who enter before December 25. No bibs will be posted until December 2009. Participants who enter on or after December 25, 2009 will need to pick up their bibs when registering on the day of the event.
Q6. Will there be any drink stations?
A6. Yes. Water will be available at the start/finish lines. There will also be 2 drink stations located on both the 9km and 4.5km courses.
Q7. Are there any toilets available?
Yes, there will be toilets available to all participants at the start/finish lines, plus men's and women's toilets near the weir along the course.
Q8. How fit do I need to be to participate?
A8. The Resolution Run caters for a range of fitness standards. Participants can choose to walk or run. All participants are encouraged to prepare adequately for the event. See the training tips page for further details about pre-event and on the day preparation.
Q9. What should I do in the case of an emergency whilst participating in the event?
A9. Each bib will have an emergency contact number printed on the front. Please call this number in case of an emergency. Participants can also access assistance from course marshals along the Linear Park track and race officials at the drink stations. Participants are also encouraged to assist others on the track if required. St John's volunteers will be stationed at Elder Park to assist any participants in need of first aid.
Q10. How will the Resolution Run be timed?
A10. All participants entering the 9km event will be timed according to 'the gun'. Fast, experienced runners should gather close to the starting line in order to gain a good position on the track once the starters gun has sounded. Slower runners and walkers are asked to start towards the back of the bunch.
Participants in the 4.5km event will not be timed.
Q11. Will place getters receive prizes?
A11. Yes. Please see the prizes page for further details.
Q12. Where can I find my results?
A12. Results for the 9km event and placegetters results in the 4.5km event will appear on the Resolution Run website by Monday 4th January, 2010.
Q13. Is there merchandise available?
A13. Yes, official Resolution Run t-shirts and running singlets can be ordered online. Postage and handling is included in the price of each item.
Q14. If I am unable to participate on the day can I obtain a refund or transfer my registration.
A14. No refunds will be provided, however your registration can be transferred to a friend. You can simply change your details on the registration page.
Q15. Can I take my dog?
A15. No. Please do not bring any pets to the Resolution Run.
