Over 600 Steps, 135 metres of Vertical Height and 30 Storeys High!

On Friday October 14, 2011, run, walk or crawl to the top of South Australia's tallest building, and know that you will be helping the Childhood Cancer Association (based in North Adelaide) to continue their important work.

After the success of the Inaugral Westpac Stair Climb in 2010, we are ramping up for an even bigger turnout this year (October 14, 2011). This year we are aiming for 700 participants and hope to raise over $50 000 to assist families and individuals through the work of the Childhood Cancer Association. C'mon Adelaide, get your friends together, put the running shoes on and join the party! Enter as an individual or as part of a team - the choice is yours. Once again this year, there will be categories for walkers and also for runners/climbers, so no matter what your fitness level, get involved and enjoy the ride!

This years event will once again involve the use of cameras mounted in the stairwell (thanks to Cisco), with the new addition of live event streaming. That's right, your friends and workmates can watch you live as you battle your way to the top - all from the comfort of their desk!

Double Trouble - for those people who just love an extreme challenge, this may appeal to you. The top three (fastest) men and women in the individual runner/climber category will this year have the chance to complete a second climb (no we're not joking!)

After the top placings have been announced, our fastest competitiors will be given a 90 minute break before tacking the stairwell a second time in a dash for the cash. The male and female with the quickest combined times (1st climb + 2nd climb) will take home the honours and the cash.

John (41, Highgate) I climbed to the top last year and couldn't believe how quickly the lactic acid built up in my legs. By the 15th floor my jog had become a slow walk. This is a genuine challenge and I'm definately back for another crack at it in 2011.

Fundraising Prize

The top 5 teams and top 5 individual fundraisers at the Westpac Stair Climb will go into the draw to win a Crows Super Tour. A group of 15 people will be given an extensive tour of the facilities at the Westpac Centre, home of the Adelaide Football Club at AAMI stadium. This one hour tour (hosted by an AFC representative with a current or past player) will give you a ‘behind the scenes’ look at where the Adelaide Crows train and prepare for the big matches.
